Dana Bowman lives the Ranger Creed.  He has continually astounded the nation and the world with his determination and his never quit attitude and zest for life.

Dana retired as a Sergeant First Class from the Army when he was with the Golden Knights in 1996.  He is a Ranger veteran of the 7th Special Forces Group before he joined the U.S. Army's Parachute Team, the Golden Knights.

Dana was thrust into the national and world spotlight when he survived one of the most horrific skydiving accidents when he collided with his fellow Golden Knight, Sergeant Jose Aguillon, on 6 February 1994.  The two were performing a free fall proximity tracking maneuver known as the Diamond Track when they collided in midair at a combined speed of over 300 MPH.  SGT Aguillon died instantly and Dana's legs were severed from his body.

Dana didn't let this tragic accident stop him from doing what he loved; serving in the U.S. Army and jumping out of airplanes.  Nine months later, he became the first double amputee to re-enlist in the U.S. Army.

After his re-enlistment, he became the Golden Knights' lead speaker and recruiting commander.  He is a prime example of the determination that is common among special operators.  He has delivered over 400 speeches, been featured in Sports Illustrated, Reader's Digest, People magazine, and many, many more.  He has also been featured in many television shows to include, but not limited to, Dateline, A Current Affair, Real TV, NBC Person of the Week, Day and Date, and Extra.

Dana Bowman is also a member of America's Skydiving Team, Team Fastrax.  Team Fastrax has 29 team members, almost all of them veterans, and VFW Post 12002's Christian Stevens is one of them.  Team Fastrax does more demonstration skydives than the U.S. Army's Golden Knights, the U.S. Navy's Leapfrogs, USSOCOM's Para-Commandos, USSOCOM's Black Daggers, and the U.S. Air Force's Wings of Blue COMBINED.  Team Fastrax travels the nation and the world doing free fall demonstrations having just returned from China and Qatar.  Team Fastrax also holds many world records including one that will be set on Sunday, 2 OCT 2016, when Larry Compton jumps an 18,000 square foot flag to benefit cancer research.  That will be the largest flag to have ever been flown under canopy.

Dana Bowman heard about what we do with Operation Santa and who we do it for and decided to be a part of our all-volunteer effort by attending and jumping into he 10th Annual Freedom Fighters Open.  Please welcome Dana Bowman to Bridgemill on 4 NOV 2016.

The only ones standing between us and the spread of Sharia Law.

VFW Members; wanna B1?

"We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

- George Orwell

Fellow Patriots,

This year will be the 10th year that the people of BridgeMill open their hearts and their athletic club to people that support veterans and present day warriors.  If history can be used to predict the future, it should be a great time for a great cause...again.

Proceeds will benefit Operation Santa, the signature charity and main effort of the GEN Raymond G. Davis (MOH) VFW Post 12002 out of North Fulton County, Georgia.  We have purchased Christmas gifts for thousands of children of Georgia-based troops deployed to the Global War on Terror over the past decade (123 just last year) as well as helping many of their families who have experienced financial difficulties during their deployments.  Come show these troops and their families that you support them and their mission.  Please join us for great golf, great fellowship, and a great time for a great cause.  We are anticipating shopping for approximately 800 kids this year and we need all the help we can get to meet these lofty goals.

OPSEC clearance to announce our beneficiaries for Operation Santa 2016 has not been granted, but rest assured that they will be similar to years past.  These are the men and women that take jihad to the enemy!  Some of these troops will be on their 18th and 19th deployments.  With your help, their kids and they are going to feel some gratitude from the private sector.

These are some of the same units that we supported with Operation Santa 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.  Due to the deployment rotation schedules and the fact that this war is mostly a Special Operations fight, they will be gone, once again, protecting Christmas and Hanukkah from the scrooges that want celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah to be illegal (Sharia Law).  While most kids will be laying awake wondering if Santa will come and what he might bring, these troops' kids will be lying awake wondering if and praying that their parents are safe.  We will bring some Christmas joy to them and hopefully a litle bit of a distraction.   All the information you'll need is on the following pages.  If you have any unanswered questions, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime, day or night.
